Whether it’s a set of monkey bars, log stacks or even an outdoor chest press – fitness trails can be an incredibly useful asset to your workouts as both trainer and trainee. They’ll open up your regime to a whole new world of outdoor body weight exercise and luckily for us, London is full of them. Why not take a client to one of these great little spots on your next session…
To begin with we’re taking you way out East to the southern tip of London Fields, home of a humble, but handy little fitness trail. The small selection of apparatus on offer includes monkey bars, parallel bars and pull up bars, along with an expense of surrounding parkland to really complement your workout plans. What’s more, this particular area of London is full to the brim of health conscious Millenials looking to workout in new and fun ways, making this spot ideal to host your East London-based PT sessions.
Those of you who know Finsbury Park will already be aware of the perfect, leafy jogging route that spans the circumference of the park, but did you know they’ve recently installed an outdoor workout station courtesy of ‘The Great Outdoor Gym People’. There you’ll find a chest press, a leg press, a cross trainer and a ski machine, making for some great, varied workouts when combined with the adjoining section of undulating running path. Definitely one of our favourite spots for outdoor training sessions in North London.
This Green Park-based outdoor gym is the perfect session setting for those of you with clients working in and around Central London. Just a stones throw away from Soho, Oxford Circus and Holborn, this conveniently located outdoor workout space consists of a log stack, a chin up bar, an abs bench, balance beams and a traversing Wall – everything you need to get a little creative with your clients without the big equipment costs!
Clapham is an absolute haven for London’s health-obsessives; with its array of health food shops and open green space it makes for one of the most the ideal locations in the capital for all of your outdoor workout needs. On the southern edge of Clapham Common you’ll find a great fitness trail consisting of a variety of pull ups bars, sit up benches, hurdles and a few other bits of body weight training apparatus. Well worth considering for any South-London based PTs among you.
