Top 5 reasons to work out in the fresh air

We love exercising outside. Whether it’s a run along the Thames, a boxercise class with mates, or a yoga class whilst watching the sunset, there’s no doubt that the fresh air does us the world of good.

Here are some of our top reasons why working out outside will give you a new lease of life.

O2 overload

By breathing in the good stuff outside, you’ll increase the amount of oxygen in your body. This in turn supports white blood cells to work even more efficiently, which strengthens your immune system, and fights off any intrusive illnesses more effectively.

Keep stress at bay

The Stress Management Society advises that ‘more oxygen will clear your mind, rejuvenate your skin and energise your whole body.’ On the flip side, if you don’t get enough oxygen, this leads to mental sluggishness, lack of focus, and even depression and anxiety.

Don’t worry….be happy

The more fresh air you get into your system, the more serotonin you’ll produce. That’s the happy hormone, and we don’t know about you, but we can’t get enough of it!
