Find your sense of control through exercise

Find your sense of control through exercise

Exercise teaches us how to be peaceful in our internal environment (the mind and body) whilst the external environment (where we have little control) constantly changes.

Exercise is a great way to feel more in control of your life. The simple act of scheduling a class gives you a sense of agency – an act that says this is how I’m going to spend this part of my day. Secondly, a class controls excessive stimuli since phones are ditched and in an outdoor class, it will be nature that will holds your thoughts and gaze, not work emails, or social plans. Thirdly, you’ll be surrounded by people on a journey like you who are pursuing positive experiences and putting their health first – you’ll learn to associate selectively with people who are fundamentally good for you. And lastly, you’ll learn something new and with this growth mindset you’ll gain a bigger perspective which will help you make better decisions and feel less overwhelmed.
